Hidden deep in rolling green hills, Santi is the kind of cabin that makes you feel like you’ve stepped straight into a postcard. Surrounded by curious sheep and alpacas, it’s the perfect spot for anyone who needs a real break, the kind where you can actually hear yourself think again. To get there, you’ll take on a 1km hike from the car park, climbing about 130 metres in elevation. It’s steep in parts and absolutely part of the experience, a little adventure before the reward. Bring your hiking boots, pack your gear into backpacks, and take it slow. The hill fades fast when you reach the cabin and see the view that’s waiting for you. Santi comes with everything you need for a cosy two-night stay, nothing more, nothing less. Switch off, light the fire pit, maybe roast a marshmallow or two, and watch the stars do their thing. You can even bring your dog along for the adventure.

The duration of this experience is a two-night stay
Check in from 3 pm and check out by 11 am

Minimum 3?night stay for the New Year’s Eve period. Mandatory check?in date is 30 December. The same requirement will also apply for the 2026 to 2027 holiday period. Additional fees or higher rates may apply during peak or special event periods, and these charges may be payable directly to Unyoked.

Restrictions

Guests of the Santi Cabin must be over the age of 18. You will receive an email with pre-arrival instructions upon booking the cabin. Additional house rules will also be provided in your field guide.

Guidelines

Guests must be over the age of 18
The exact location of your cabin will be provided upon booking
Cabins are located on rural and often undeveloped areas of land that are often not occupied by the Landowner all year round
Guest acknowledge that they are responsible for their own safety in and around the cabin and property
Midweek is Monday to Thursday
Weekend is Friday to Sunday
Subject to availability
Pets are welcome. There is a $40 pet fee which will be charged by Unyoked directly
Please note: All cabins have a minimum of 2-night stay on weekends.
Please note access to Santi is via a 1km hike on a 130m incline. We recommend appropriate footwear (Hiking Boots) are worn and the use of a backpack.

Cancellation

For changes made at least 30 days prior to arrival there is no cancellation fee and guests can choose to either reschedule, receive a gift voucher for the full amount
For changes made 15-29 days prior to arrival, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking amount (plus 5% processing fee).
For cancellations within 14 days prior to arrival there will be no refund, voucher or rebooking - partial or otherwise.
For early departures prior to your Departure Date, there will be no refund, voucher or rebooking - partial or otherwise

Weather

The cabin is a great place to be during the warmer and cooler months and even when it rains! During wet or poor weather, guests may be notified of a weather warning. In the event you are notified of a weather warning, there will be a place to park your vehicle/s in any alternative nominated wet weather zones.

Location

This experience is located in Hallston, VIC, on the traditional land of the Bunurong and Gunaikurnai People. It’s around a 2.5-hour drive from Melbourne. There’s a 1km walk to the cabin from the car park with a steep incline, so wear proper shoes, pack light, and treat it as part of the adventure. The weather can shift quickly in the hills, so pack for all seasons.

1 Star — Unsafe and Misleading Experience

Our stay at Santi Tiny Home was unsafe and misrepresented. The “extra spicy” 1 km walk was actually multiple very steep, unstable climb with loose rocks and slippery ground, far more dangerous than described. The trolleys provided had half broken wheels, and the owner’s response to safety concerns and being unable after multiple attempts to get ourselves and belongings for the weekend up to Santi was dismissive and unprofessional. Despite paying for our dog, I was forced to climb alone and sustained injuries after falling multiple times. This experience was unacceptable and lacked basic duty of care. I’ve lodged a formal complaint with Red Balloon and Unyoked but shocker haven’t heard anything. I urge others to avoid this property until it’s properly reviewed.
