Banubanu Beach Retreat is a seasonal destination and closes during the Northern Territory's wet season. As weather conditions vary each year, our operating dates may change. We do our best to maximise our season while always prioritising the safety of our guests and team. Overnight stays at Banubanu Beach Retreat are restricted to guests aged 13 years and over. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to stay overnight. Guests must have a reasonable level of mobility to safely board and disembark the boat and navigate the island's natural terrain. All boat transfers and island activities are subject to weather and sea conditions.

Banubanu Beach Retreat enjoys a tropical climate, with warm temperatures year-round. The dry season (typically April to October) brings sunny days, low humidity and ideal conditions for swimming, snorkelling and exploring the island. The wet season (typically November to March) can bring tropical rain, strong winds and changing sea conditions. As a remote island destination, our operations are weather dependent. While we strive to remain open for as much of the year as possible, guest safety is our highest priority and seasonal operating dates may vary depending on conditions.

Banubanu is all about relaxed island living. Casual, comfortable clothing is encouraged throughout your stay, along with swimwear, a hat and footwear suitable for walking on sand and uneven natural terrain. For dinner, we recommend smart casual attire. A light shirt or dress, shorts or trousers are ideal. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended year-round, along with reef-safe sunscreen and insect repellent.

A daily continental breakfast is included in your stay. Lunch, dinner and beverages are not included and can be purchased from our restaurant and bar during your stay. Banubanu Beach Retreat is a fully licensed venue. BYO food and alcohol are not permitted. Please advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. We can cater for most dietary needs with advance notice. Boat transfers operate to a schedule and are subject to weather and sea conditions. We recommend bringing lightweight clothing, swimwear, a hat, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent and comfortable walking shoes. As a remote island retreat, menu items and services may vary depending on seasonal availability and freight schedules.
