Staff was very helpful and friendly accommodating our additional request to add a third person which we paid for on the night and ordered for a la carte. As for the Red Balloon dining set menu, it consisted of 2 entrees, two mains and a shared dessert. Drinks included. We were served Szechuan Calamari, Garlic Bread for the entrees. The main were a juicy new York steak w salad, grilled chicken skewer w chips (which is served on a hanging grill skewer). Dessert was a gazelnut gelato with a fondant chocolate lava cake. The food was fresh, the steak cooked to preference and the seasoning and choice of sauce for the mains were delicious. The dessert was also a hit. The restaurant on its own was fine, very nice in fact, but we were told there was a special menu for Red Balloon customers. In other words a very limited menu. The voucher was worth $110 and when I asked if we could change the location of restaurant from Circular Quay to Bella Vista was told it would be another $10.09 which I had to pay before they would accept the reservation, so that totalled $120. When we arrived they took us to a tiny round table in the far corner wedged next to a giant column like we were 2nd class customers or possibly Red Balloon customers, we complained and they moved us to a better table. Plenty of variety in this particular 3 course dinner. Quantities perfect. Cooked to perfection and the dessert was to die for! The wine pairing was on point. (However, last time, possibly 12 months ago, there was a bottle that was included not just one glass). However, all in all we would totally recommend. Our lunch was to celebrate my husband's birthday and we got a nice booth in the corner. Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious.
