Visit uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. This is a three-in-one tour, including an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling over pristine reefs, and a guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walk. Access the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach, and special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience.

The semi rigid inflatable vessels are fast allowing participants to experience a fun ride, adventure and education among the natural beauty of the Whitsundays. 32 passengers at most allows for personal snorkelling lessons and the pleasure of a small group.

Session Length

Tours operate every day except for Christmas Day
Check in 8am for an 8:45am departure, returns at 3:30pm
Courtesy coach local pick ups from 7.45am - 8:30am

Guidelines

Adult: 15 years old and over
Child: 2 to 14 years old
Family: 2 Adults and 2 Children aged from 2 to 14 years old
Although good health and a positive attitude are essential, you do not need any prior experience to partake in any of the activities
Not recommended for pregnant women, the elderly or participants with bad back problems
A signed release will be required from all participants on departure
Please note if you are travelling to the Whitsundays on a cruise ship, the timings of this experience do not align with the visiting cruise ship schedule

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

There will be a maximum of 25 - 32 participants per tour.

Weather

Sites are weather and tide permitting.

Dress Code

Bring a beach bag including sunscreen, bathers, a towel, a hat, sand shoes and a sweater or jacket in the winter months to protect you from the wind and keep you warm after snorkelling.

Public holiday surcharge of $20 per adult, $10 per child and $50 per family (2ad and 2ch) is payable direct to the supplier on the day of the experience

Amazing experience!

Great way to get out and explore the islands. Beautiful landscapes and fascinating corals and wildlife. Highly recommend the Ocean Rafting team. They really provide a great experience! It is a full day, so take plenty of water and sunscreen with you too!

More like a speed boat ride

So at the start of the day it was fun, I was under the impression it was a FAST boat, I wasn't under the impression the boat would constantly be doing doughnuts and moving side to side, would of loved it if this only happened every now and then but it was constant, and they did it just after we ate lunch, which made me sick and i couldnt snorkel at all, which is why i booked this tour. Really upset with how the day turned out, and they really didn't seem to empathic about it. Such a shame.

Speed boating Whitehaven tour

We had a good experience. I would describe this as a speed boat tour. We had heavy winds, bunny but fun ride. snorkelling session and an 1/1/2 hours on Whitehaven beach plus a stop for a walk up hill inlet. Overall very good tour, but I wouldn’t recommend it for older or small kids- bit rough. We had a great time. Same and Dave were laid back and professional.

We had a great day out on the water. Maisie and Daniel were really fantastic guides and the lunch was delicious. The snorkelling was fun and we got to see some great views and wildlife

The view from the lookout at Whitehaven beach was spectacular but the best part of the day had to be the snorkelling. It was absolutely stunning seeing all the fish and sea life. The highlight for us was swimming with a turtle!

Had so much fun on this trip. "Black Betty" was crewed by Toby and Jas, they were wonderful fun people that like making your day great, like talking to you and they are passionate about the place where they work, The Great Barrier Reef. Raft is fast, the food is great, the humour, knowledge and the respect for the reef and it's creatures, HUGE! Will be a returning customer for the rest of my life!!

More snorkel, less boat please

I felt like there was too much time spent in the boat. Some people may like going in circles over waves and bumps etc. but to do it the whole time we were in the boat was a little frustrating. I would've preferred to get to the locations quicker and snorkel longer. Having said that, I did enjoy the day and the staff at Ocean Rafting were lovely.

We had a great time flying round the beautiful Whitsundays was good to begin the day with the walk to the famous lookout followed by a relaxing lunch and some amazing snorkel spots in the afternoon. Even though the day was overcast the sun was shining on our raft, Alex and Klarissa when out of their way to ensure we all had a fun experience including our children who were a little unsure at first.
