Sail past the Home of the Arts to the southern end of Surfers Paradise, or head down to the Southport Burleigh Road Bridge as you set out for an hour long picnic boat adventure. Crusing past luxury homes and hidden inlets as you make your way through the city's iconic waterways. Dining on a picnic of your own making as you go.

Beginning with a safety briefing and demonstration, you will be able to take the lead with confidence on this self-drive adventure. Along with a map of the area and simple instructions for operating the user friendly vessel, making it easy for anyone of age to take the wheel, with no license or prior experience needed. Ideal for locals looking for a fun day out or for visitors from afar who want to explore the area.

Session Length

This experience is one hour in duration
Please arrive 15 minutes early for a safety briefing and demonstation
Open five days a week, 9am to 5pm, excluding Christmas Day

Guidelines

This is a self drive, self catered experience. No food or beverage is included
Security bond of $200 is required, taken as a pre authorisation from a valid debit card, cancelled once the boat is returned without damage
$20 surcharge applies on public holidays
Minimum age of 18 years and over to skipper the boat
All ages welcome as passengers
Valid photo ID must be provided, preferably belonging to the participant who made the booking
Skipper must maintain a 0.00 BAC at all times
Participants who are not driving, and who are 18 years and over may consume up to two alcoholic beverages
Fishing is not permitted
Participants must remain on the water for the duration of their experience, no docking at alternative locations allowed
Opening hours may vary depending on season and weather, bookings are essential
There is no ramp onto the boat for wheelchairs or strollers and a step down is required
Dogs permitted

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 72 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 72 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Maximum of eight participants, including children and infants of any age.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Please wear weather appropriate clothing, sunglasses and a sunhat, or a raincoat if needed. BYO picnic supplies, food and beverages.

Perfect Mid-Week Reset on the Water

[Employee of redballoon] Such a lovely way to spend a Wednesday afternoon. The electric picnic boat hire was the perfect mid-week break, super relaxing, peaceful, and a great way to switch off. It's BYO food and bubbly and conveniently located next to Harris Farm, so we were able to grab everything for a little cheese board beforehand. The signage was clear and easy to follow, and Felipe was fantastic in walking our nominated captain through driving the boat. Cruising through the waterways with cheese, and bubbly while taking in the city views was perfect. Would absolutely do this again, 10/10 would recommend! Perfect for a catch-up with friends or even something a bit different with family for Easter. Plus, since the price is per boat, it’s really affordable when split between a group.
