It was an incredible experience. I have a manual V8 so I knew a bit of what was coming but the chance to drive a fast track was amazing. The crew managing the experience were so good; from a comprehensive safety briefing at the start, through to suiting up and then running the 'drivers' through their experience the whole thing was managed professionally and without unnecessary delay. Cars handle pretty well, albiet the one I was driving was running out of tyres, so it was understeering a bit, but it was still good fun. Managed to drive the car nice and hard, and the instructor was very friendly and helpful. I've had previous experience on wanneroo raceway, so was good to get some instruction on how to better my laps, and also experience a purpose built race car. The cars are much lower powered than a proper v8 supercar, but they are still good fun. Highly recommend you get more than 6 laps though, if you have experience. By the 6th lap, you're getting comfortable with the car and lines. Before then, you're still a bit unsure on how it'll brake and handle, and whether it'll kick out easily. But, it's nicely controllable and pretty easy with the brakes. The instructor in the passengers seat gave very good instruction on were to position the car on the track during the whole 6 laps. It would have been a lot better if the car was faster, but that's not saying it was slow. The car was fast just faster enough for me, will be try an F1 adventure next.
