★★★★★ ★★★★★ HORRIBLE HIGH TEA EXPERIENCE Helen 15 April 2025 Warning warning !!! Our high tea experience was SO HORRIBLE! !! We were seated around tables full of loud babies and toddlers. Complained early on and the supervisor could not care less and dismissed it. He started to argue with us and then walked off rudely. Absolutely Appalling! We then raised our terrible high tea experience and the supervisors arrogant behavior with his manager. I pick up from his demeanor that they were mates and also had the same accent. As we left the hotel, the supervisor we complained about ran after us and berated and harassed us outside at the front of the hotel. He was angry and argumentative. Reported this incident to his manager and did not get any response back. That’s because they are mates! We will never ever return for high tea at this horrible DUMP where you have a bunch of ignorant unprofessional morons running it who ruin your whole day! Disgusting! The Windsor Hotel is a beautiful hotel which has been renovated to such a high standard and in keeping with its past. There is a lot of history around the hotel and you can read all about it in the hotel. The High tea was lovely and the staff were wonderful. The savoury dishes were delicious. The sweet dishes were very sweet and I felt they needed a little pastry or tart to cut through. This of course is only my personal.opinion on the sweetness. As it was near Xmas the sweets served were around a Xmas theme ie. Snowman, gift and ornament shaped very nicely presented. The teas were really nice and unlimited.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Very disappointed with our experience. Karen 4 November 2023 We arrived and was warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Our waitress greeted us and we were each poured a glass of sparkling which was very nice. We then received the first tier of savoury food which was luke warm, cracked tart shells(like they had been sitting in the warmer for too long) and a little tasteless. We all agreed it was “ok” and a waiter whisked away our glasses-we didn’t get asked if we would like another. We then sat for 20/30 minutes with no one coming near us! We had a glass of water - no offer of tea or coffee - but we were at a “high tea”? Our sweet tier arrived and we asked the person delivering the food (not the person that said they were going to be our waiter for the high tea) if we could have a cup of tea - really ridiculous when you think about it - and he said - yes sure what do you want? We ordered and 15 minutes later our tea arrived. The sweets tier was ok but nothing spectacular like we have had at other venues. We were not offered another selection of tea. No one came near us from that time onwards. We stood up and left and nobody acknowledged we were leaving or said good bye or thank you. I think it was appalling considering the reputation The Windsor has the price you pay. I would be more than willing to talk to management regarding our experience - let’s wait and see what their response is!
