Surprise someone with a tandem skydive from 15,000ft over the Yarra Valley, freefalling for up to 60 seconds above vineyards, farmland and ranges.
Discover the rush of a tandem skydive over the Yarra Valley, meeting your instructor at Lilydale Airport in Yering, around 45 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. After a thorough safety briefing you will be fitted with all the gear you need, then board the aircraft and climb to 15,000ft over rows of vines, rolling farmland and the Dandenong and Yarra Ranges. When the door opens, you will leap with your instructor into up to 60 seconds of freefall, the ground rushing up in a roaring blur.
The parachute opens at 5,000ft and everything turns quiet, leaving five to seven minutes to drift above cellar doors, paddocks and ridgelines. It makes a memorable gift for anyone who has always said they would jump one day, with an experienced instructor, all equipment and the APF levy taken care of. Allow up to four hours for the whole experience, and expect the grin to last a good deal longer.
In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing with soft soled shoes, avoid high heels and skirts, and dress warmly as it is colder in freefall than on the ground.
This experience meets at Lilydale Airport at 13 MacIntyre Ln, Yering, VIC 3770.
