Explore the harbour of Williamstown on board this one hour tall ship cruise. Experience life on board a 19th Century merchant vessel and discover the fascinating history of how this replica ship was built. Learn the history of the first settlers in Melbourne.

What's included?

On board you will learn the rich history of this vessel, from merchant vessel to carrying the first settlers of Melbourne. This cruise also coincides with the Williamstown Craft Market, a great place to stop before or after your cruise to pick up some unique goodies.

The Enterprize tall ship is an all-timber, carvel planked, two masted, topsail schooner. She is single decked, and made as close in replica to the original ship operating as a coastal trading vessel in the 1800's. She has been traditionally constructed using Australian and New Zealand grown timbers. This experience aims to provide you with the opportunity to experience life on board a nineteenth century sailing ship.

Important information

  • Please arrive at the ship 15 minutes before the ship is due to depart
  • Please be aware, the ship is traditionally rigged and will have plenty of tar present, choose clothing that can get dirty
  • Seating is available, however limited
  • Children: Age 3 - 15 years
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

You will share this experience with other participants on board.

If the wind and/or rain is light to moderate, Enterprize will still sail. If it is heavy rain, the Master may cancel the sail and you will be notified by email and SMS.

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, flat shoes and a warm, windproof layer.

You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or dinner, including a bottle of wine, but please be aware that the ship will move, so containers need to be sealable, and glassware should be plastic.

This was an excellent opportunity to teach my kids about sailing and history. I would highly recommend it to others.

Really great fun. The Ship was amazing and faithful to the original in almost every detail. A bit more wind would have even better but even with a light breeze it was so exciting to see the sails power us along. The crew were really friendly and knowledgeable. Would appeal to either Pirate fans or History buffs alike.
