Embark on a two-hour guided walk around Tae Rak (Lake Condah) led by a Gunditjmara cultural guide. You'll discover more about the Gunditjmara people and how they created one of Australia's oldest and largest aquaculture systems to sustain life for tens of thousands of years.
Be immersed in the fascinating Budj Bim Cultural Landscape in southwestern Victoria, a World Heritage listed site and home of one of Australia's oldest and largest aquaculture systems. Your Gunditjmara cultural guide will take you on an informative tour around Tae Rak (Lake Condah) where you'll learn about the significance of the lake, which is made up of 1,700 hectares of wetlands and stony rises.
Your tour will begin at the front of the lake where your guide will briefly share the Gunditjmara creation story and will point out the marine and birdlife that inhabit the lake. A short bus ride to one of our sites where you could see lava caves, eel traps or stone houses.
Minimum of two participants needed to operate and a maximum of 20 participants.
This experience runs in all weather conditions unless it is dangerous to do so.
Please wear casual clothing, comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing in winter.
