Enjoy a half day whale watching and swimming adventure off the Sunshine Coast, with the chance to share the water with majestic humpback whales in their natural environment. Departing from Mooloolaba aboard a comfortable vessel, you'll cruise offshore with a fully trained crew and guide as you search for these gentle giants.

Once a whale is sighted, the boat will remain in neutral at least 100 metres away. If conditions are considered safe by the trained crew, you'll be guided into the water with a floating safety line attached to the boat, giving you the opportunity to experience these magnificent creatures from the water.

Feel the thrill of watching their graceful movements and sharing their environment while remaining under the guidance of your experienced crew. Wetsuits, masks, snorkels and fins are provided, along with light snacks to enjoy onboard. If you'd prefer to stay dry, you can remain on the vessel and watch the whales from above.

This experience is a half day in duration, approximately four hours in duration
This experience is seasonally available from July to October
Available daily at select times
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure

Guidelines

Bookings are essential
Minimum age is eight years old
Participants must be able to swim independently in open sea conditions
All participants must sign disclaimer forms
This experience is not suitable for pregnant participants
The experience provider cannot guarantee the sighting of whales as these are wild animals

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 72 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 72 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Maximum of 15 participants.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Bring swimwear and a towel. Also bring a warm jacket and water bottle.

Trip cancelled less than 24hrs out

Planned a trip away around dive. Cancelled less than 24hrs out. Unable to book us into any other dives that season. Unable to cancel our accomodation. Only book if you live local.

We were lucky enough to get to see an abundance of whales and swim with two very curious whales who seemed to love all the attention as they kept lapping our boat! Definitely recommend this experience.

Such an amazing day out on the water. The crew do an amazing job at creating the atmosphere and when you see the whales, it's so awe inspiring. Would definitely recommend but just be ready to swim fast.

I bought this as a gift for gummy and friends and it was an outstanding experience for all of them. My 78 year old mum didn’t swim but was treated like a queen and had an amazing time and saw many whales. 5star

Such an amazing experience. The crew really tries their hardest to find the whales and to get you into the water. It is on the whales terms so do not get dissapointed if you cannot swim with them. Trying to find whales is an experience on its own. We were very lucky an saw the whales in the water. Also one of them kent jumping out of the water. An undescribable experience. I’m still speechless.

Was great weather out on the water, and the crew were amazing! Although the whales seemed to be a bit shy and kept their distance, the crew tried their very best to make sure we saw as many whales as we could - both in and out of the water. The crew's energy and liveliness onboard definitely made the tour 100% more enjoyable!
