Enjoy a unique two hour dolphin swimming experience aboard a 58 foot sailing catamaran, where you'll encounter wild dolphins in their natural environment. Upon boarding, a professional and enthusiastic crew will welcome you before an expert briefing covering what to expect, water safety and snorkelling techniques, with demonstrations available for first time snorkellers.

You may spot your first dolphins within minutes as they appear around the vessel, playing and frolicking alongside the hulls. Swimmers can enjoy interactions that may last over an hour, sometimes across several swims with different pods.

If you'd rather stay aboard, you can watch from the vessel and capture the dolphins' playful displays from above the water. Every cruise is different, offering a genuine opportunity to experience these remarkable animals in the wild. Listen to their distinctive whistles and echolocation sounds and marvel at their grace and playfulness. The dolphins are never fed or enticed in any way, ensuring a truly natural encounter.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure
Not available in June, July and August or on Christmas and New Years Day

Restrictions

Food and beverages are not included.

Guidelines

Minimum age to swim is nine years old
This experience is suitable for all ages, children of any age may watch from the vessel
Basic swimming skills are recommended
The largest wetsuit size is a 4XL
Participants must have the physical strength and mobility to use a ladder and hold onto a floatation line
A five millimetre thick wet suit must be worn at all times
The experience provider cannot guarantee the sighting of dolphins as they are wild animals

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Maximum of 50 participants per vessel.

Spectators

Spectators may watch from the vessel deck but must still purchase a ticket.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Please bring bathers, a towel, hat, sunscreen, a camera, warm clothes, and any snacks or drinks you may want.

Best day out swimming with wild dolphins

I cannot recommend the staff highly enough for their help and support getting into the net and being able to experience the wonder of seeing wild dolphins swim out in front of the bow. Best experience ever with my daughter

This was an amazing experience where we not only got to watch dolphins playing on the waves but also swim with them out the back of the boat & watch them underwater on the net at the front of the boat. This was made even better by having such lovely well-educated staff full of info & happy to answer questions. A wonderful way to see the Adelaide coastline, highly recommend.

This experience far exceeded my already sky high expectations! I have recommended it to everyone and their mothers since we did it, and I believe a few have now booked their own day out. We saw soooo many dolphins, from both the front and the back of the boat. The highlight was the babies coming to say hi up front. I will definitely do this again, and have also stored it away for future gift ideas.

We had a great morning out with the Swim with the Dolphins Catamaran Cruise - the 'swim' offering was the best fit for us as we wanted to get in the water. All swim guests get equal opportunity to view the dolphins from both the front and back of the vessel with ropes slowly dragging you along if you are at the back or at the front (our favourite) you lie down on a net and view 'Flipper' looking straight at you, is so much fun. The crew were great hosts too, all tertiary qualified in marine science so really knew their stuff. Wetsuits were nice and thick so we didn't get cold or sunburnt as you have them on for most of the trip.
