The staff were friendly and professional, and the cars themselves are cool, but overall the experience felt a bit too controlled — especially if you already have driving experience. You’re told exactly when to shift, when to brake, and what to do the entire time. I understand that for the first couple of laps, but it stays like that for the whole session, which takes a lot of the thrill out of it. There’s also very little free roam or opportunity to actually push the car, and you’re not allowed to hit anything hard, which was a bit of a letdown. The hot lap isn’t done in the WRX either — it’s in the buggy. The buggy is fun, but it would’ve been great to see the WRX properly flung around instead. I drive high-horsepower Subarus on the road, so I was hoping for a bigger sense of adrenaline and freedom on the track. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite deliver that for me. That said, the people are genuinely nice, and I can see this being a great experience for beginners or first-timers. Just not something I’d personally come back for. Brendan 15 November 2018 I bought this rally drive for my husban as a present, and although he enjoyed his experience driving the wrx rally car, his “hot lap” was nothing that you would have expected, meaning the young “experienced” driver didn’t seem to be confident or competent in the car he was driving, making the “hot lap” just a regular drive around the track. Will not be purchasing this experience again if this is to be the outcome with how much it costs. And on top of that the money we spent just to get a few minutes from an SD card from a go pro is a little excessive, especially when I could bring my own for cheaper. Thank you but not worth the money.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Great experience especially for us city dwellers Dave 24 April 2018 This was a present and I thought it was a great experience. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Cars are pretty much as pictured, so a few generations old but very workable. As these experiences are done in groups, I was initially worried there would be a lot of waiting around. But it wasn’t too bad at all. It does give some time to soak it in and watch some others, which helps the experience as long as you don’t have too many in your group. Our group was fine. And it was fun and I would recommend at least eight if not eighteen laps if you are really keen to learn. Great team.
