Experience the spectacular scenery of Tasmania's West Coast from the air, ground and sea! Departing from Hobart, take to the skies for a scenic flight to the small town of Strahan and then transfer to a catamaran for a 5.5-hour cruise along the Gordon River. A delicious lunch is included.
The day begins with an early morning pick up from your Hobart hotel, where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your 50-minute flight to Strahan. Soar over the central highlands of Tasmania and marvel at the grand scale of Macquarie Harbour before touching down at Strahan. Here you will board a luxury catamaran for a 5.5-hour cruise along the Gordon River. Journey through Hell’s Gate, the mouth of Macquarie Harbour and soak in views of ancient rainforest and local salmon and trout farms. The vessel will make a stop at Heritage Landing where you can walk through the rainforest and discover 2000-year-old Huon Pines. Enjoy a delicious lunch as you cruise to Sarah Island, where you’ll embark on a second walking tour and hear fascinating stories of the convict era. Upon returning to Strahan, you’ll have two hours of free time to stroll around the picturesque town and peruse the local gift shop before returning to Cambridge.
