Get acquainted with the cuddliest rays and stingrays for a special encounter in the lagoons of this amazing marine-life conservation centre in Port Stephens. You'll also enjoy an unforgettable shallow water experience, feeding and petting these incredible creatures along with some friendly sharks.

You'll meet these special animals under the watchful eye of an experienced guide, who will orchestrate your date and offer their knowledge and passion for aquatic life. These intimate moments will give you a newfound appreciation and understanding for these creatures who won't hesitate to come up to your lap for a special cuddle. Afterwards, enjoy some time in the shallow waters of the lagoon for the exciting opportunity to feed and pet more rays and some friendly sharks.

  • This experience is 2h 20min in duration
  • Please allow two hours for the shallows encounter and 20 minutes for the stingray cuddles experience
  • Suitable for all ages
  • Children under 12 years need an adult accompanying; adults will have to purchase a ticket as well
  • Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Maximum of 6 participants per session.

Spectators may watch from the edge with a valid entry ticket.

This experience operates in all weather conditions.

Please wear clothing over your swimwear for the shallows encounter. Wetsuits are provided for the stingray cuddle experience; please have swimwear underneath.

The kids had a great time

My one suggestion is that they make the stingray pool area that you walk in a little bit deeper. Then the kids would be less likely to splash and disturb the stingrays.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Irukanji Shark and Ray Encounters. The staff were amazing and very knowledgeable. Being able to feed and touch the rays and sharks was incredible! Reasonably priced for a one of a kind experience. Perfect for all ages. We will be returning with the whole family.
