Paddling a sea kayak is a fantastic way to explore the untouched coastline along the Port Phillip Bay. The sand is clean and the water is crystal clear as you glide along the surface. You might even be treated to dolphins and seals surfacing just metres from your kayak!

Sea kayaking is a fantastic way to explore the pristine Mornington Peninsula coastline. This is the perfect place to launch a kayak and glide across the translucent blue of Port Phillip Bay.

Your kayak tour begins with a briefing covering terminology, equipment use, skills and safety procedures. Our highly experienced guides also educate kayakers on the marine life and points of interest likely to be encountered.

Your guide will lead you via the picturesque hilltop mansions, paddle past timeless sailing boats and marinas, serene bays and inlets, sharing expert knowledge on the history and typography of the area. The kayak tour is around 14kms which takes approximately 2 hours to paddle with a break for a snack on the beach.

Session Length

Tours depart daily at 9.30am
Please note that summer weekend dates are particularly busy and should be booked at least 2 weeks in advance
You will need to allocate between 3 - 4 hours, including a briefing, tuition and up to 2 hours paddling

Guidelines

Adult: 16 years old+
Child: 12 to 15 years old. Students can avail of the child rate. Valid ID and student card required
Family: 2 adults and 2 children
If you are over 6 foot in height or 100kg in weight, or have any medical conditions, please advise at the time of booking
Participants must have a contactable phone number on the day of and leading up to their experience. If a guest does not answer their phone in case of a last minute change, the tour company will not be held responsible

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

The price quoted is for one person. The tour operates with a minimum of 4 people. Each kayaks holds 2 people. Should minimum numbers not be met, You may be rescheduled to a later date.

Weather

This experience may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions. Please call the centre by 5pm the day prior to your course, if in any doubt. Any cancelled experiences will be rescheduled for a later date.

Dress Code

Wear comfortable shorts or bathers and bring spare clothes and a towel in case you get wet.

You'll be required to sign an indemnity form prior to participating in this experience.

Phenomenal experience

I can not suggest this company enough. On the day of the experience, it was just me and my partner booked in. The company did not mind one bit and took us out. Our Guide was phenomenal. He made us feel comfortable and was extremely knowledgeable. He gave us history of all the different parts that we last, we pulled up right next to a seal and then again further along the coast. He offered to take photos for us. He was just a top guy. When we were paddling, he gave us space but didn’t make us feel like we needed to hurry, and his conversational skills were amazing. Honestly a 10/10 experience and anyone would be lucky to have a tour with this company. Above and beyond.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything went really well from the booking until the end, when we drove back with the van from the beach to the kayak house. Fun activity with friends and family. We weren’t able to see any dolphins that day but the water and the beaches at Portsea were beautiful. Definitely recommend it, especially on a warm summer day.

Our groups had lots of different levels of kayakers and the groups leaders were really receptive to this and kept it interesting for everyone. Fun way to spend a morning would definitely book it again.

Great tour, well organised, friendly and safe. It was a fair bit shorter than I'd imagined for the price, however. No dolphin sightings, but that's never a guarantee. Overall, a lovely morning on the water.
