Get up close to magnificent Black Rhinos and one of the Southern White Rhino bulls on our Black and White Rhino Interactive tour! Ever wondered what a rhino feels like? Wonder no more. Our unique tour is your chance to touch, feed and learn all about these horned and humungous creatures and even put some of them to bed for the night! As part of your tour you’ll journey through Monarto Safari Park to a behind the scenes area (in our soon to open Wild Africa precinct) to come face-to-horn with a truly impressive Southern White Rhino bull. With a keeper to guide you, you’ll discover that despite his size and stature this gentle giant often enjoys a tickle behind the ears and a rub between his armoured folds while Black Rhinos are an entirely different species in both looks and temperament… Regardless of these differences, both species are sadly threatened with extinction. Your visit helps to fight for their future in the wild and provide a home for them in Australia’s first ever rhino

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of the experience, bookings for this exact experience cannot be guaranteed for more than 3 months from the date of purchase.

Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a paying adult

Unforgettable experience

A highlight of my visit to Monarto was the Black and White Rhino Interactive. The chance to meet these beautiful endangered species up close and hear all about them by their keepers will be something I remember for a long time. The guide and keeper were all very welcoming and knowledgeable. It is truly a personal experience to go behind the scenes like this.

Hand feeding Rhino's at Monarto

Given to us as a wedfing gift. Booked a 'behind the scenes' Rhino experince @zMonarto Zoo.We spent the day in the Zoo's open Air Zoogrounds - then We hand fed an endangered Black Rhino and patted/massaged a huge White Rhino. An unforgettable experience.
