Travel with us from Hobart to the Tasman Peninsula, where the might of the Southern Ocean has carved spectacular caves and arches into solid rock. Meet Tassie’s coastline at its rugged finest. It’ll take your breath away.

Spend the morning walking along 300 metre high clifftops, pausing at majestic lookouts to watch giant waves crash against dolerite spires. Visit Pirates Bay, Waterfall Bay, Tasman Arch and the famous Devil’s Kitchen, ticking all the best views off the list.

Port Arthur is up next, where impeccably preserved ruins offer a chilling glimpse of life as a Tasmanian convict. Spend four hours exploring this World Heritage open air museum, including a complimentary harbour cruise around the Isle of the Dead and fascinating site talks.

Our last stop is the unmissable Richmond, a historic village filled with quaint stone buildings, ye olde lolly shops and Australia’s oldest bridge! This sandstone beauty was built by convicts and is thought to be haunted. You be the judge.

Port Arthur on my 60th birthday

Douglas 8 October 2023

We all met up at the Hobart Tourist information centre and met Nick our guide for the day. There were 10 of us on the bus and I think everyone found Nick's commentary and information to be spot on. We visited a national park on the coast first and had a 30 minute bush walk before heading off to Port Arthur. The other guests on the bus were really friendly and we all enjoyed a chat at each stop. In all, it was a wonderful day out and expertly run. One of the other guests even bought me a birthday cake at the Port Arthur cafe and they all sung happy birthday to me. Really nice touch for the day!

Fabulous Hobart/Pt Arthur tour

Jude 25 September 2023

Our tour stated at 7.30 am at Hobart with a beautiful crisp morning in Hobart. The day looked like rain but only a short shower & none again for the whole day.. A great short walk to see the Arches & rugged coast line on the way to Pt Arthur. 4 hours site walk of Pt Arthur & including the memorial & Cafe for a few quiet moments. Bus ride taking in Richmond on the way back to Hobart. One negative if you have bad knees, lots of stairs & up & down hill walking. Very positive day tour , great amenities, great cafe & lovely guides talk you through each house/ prison etc and to help with your day

An excellent day out with many interesting stops on the way to Port Arthur and back to Hibart

Port Arthur-wow , the history

Amazing Tour- Port Arthur historic site, a place you just have to experience for yourself, no words can come close. The guide at Port Arthur was knowledgeable and great humour. As for our bus guide Trevor- what a champ. Never a dull moment, plenty of fabulous scenery, expansive knowledge with interesting facts and stories (factual and fun) and lots of laughs throughout the day. The only negative I found with the tour is that we felt a little rushed at Port Arthur. You could actual spend the whole day just at the Port Arthur Site. Maybe the sightseeing on the bus trip could be a tour on its own.

Incredible day exploring

Port Arthur, Hobart

A great trip but could possibly of done without the stop in Richmond at the end of the day. Nick the driver was great and full of useful info and facts but airing his political and social views on the trip is not a good thing. Would highly recommend port Arthur to everyone.

Enjoyable day tour
