Soar through the skies and the beaches in our iconic Pitts Special and feel the thrill of the intense aerobatics over Palm Beach after you've completed the scenic segment of your flight.
Prepare for the ultimate adventure as you soar above Sydney Harbour and the Northern Beaches in the iconic Red Baron Open Cockpit Biplane, the Pitts Special. Sydney's only open cockpit aircraft! This breathtaking experience will show you views of Sydney's most famous landmarks including the Harbour Bridge, the Oprah House, Rose Bay, Manly, Mosman, Palm Beach all in our open cockpit aircraft. What so special about an open cockpit aircraft? It makes you feel like you're part of the environment your viewing. The wind is flowing through your hair and you can literally reach out and touch the sky you're soaring through! It's like driving in a fully convertible car, and when it comes to doing aerobatic manoeuvres in an open cockpit aircraft, well that feel like your racing around a windy road on a motorbike! In addition to seeing Sydney Harbour, we will do a low pass over our beaches at 500 feet! Starting at Manly beach and end up at Palm Beach. Make look out for the whales and dolphins!
Once you've soaked in the scenery, the excitement shifts to the next level with an option of either a mild or an intense aerobatic sequence over Palm beach and the Barren Joey light house. Feel the rush as you reach speeds of up to 360 km/h and experience manoeuvres like loops, rolls, and hammerheads, with up to +4-6G forces. If you're feeling brave on the day, we can also show you what it feels like to fly inverted (up side down) in your open cockpit! The only thing holding you in the aircraft when upside down is our very secure straps! Oh and the view will now be above you, instead of beneath you. Try to enjoy the view while you're inverted in the open cockpit aircraft while experience negative G-forces, (one of our passengers once said it was the best fun you can have with your clothes on!). All this, while the coastline and the packed beaches beneath you and watching on with awe and envy, remember to wave to all the on lookers!

Friends and family are welcome to accompany you for your experience. They can wait in our comfortable flight lounge while you have the experience of a lifetime. They will join you walking out to the aeroplane for photos together and your mission briefing, watch you depart and then greet you when you land. Once you return we will put your video up on the big screen so you can all watch what you just experienced!
Red Baron reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule flights for any reason that may affect the safety of the flight. Safety is the number one priority. Weather, aircraft serviceability and pilot availability are factors that may determine if a flight will proceed on the requested date and time. If your flight was deemed to be unsuitable for flying, we will contact you and provide your other available time slots. Poor weather conditions include, but are not limited to; low cloud cover, rain, adverse wind conditions, and forecast temperature exceeding 33 degrees Celsius.
You will get suited up in a pilot's flight suit, the same specification as those used by the Australian and US Airforce. With this in mind, we recommend comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day. Enclosed shoes are required. Sunglasses and a hair tie for long hair are highly recommended.
