Explore Brisbane CBD after dark to learn the art of night photography. Using a tripod and your DSLR camera, you will learn to shoot in manual modes to best capture cityscapes, reflections, ambient light and street lights. Master composition and walk away with confidence to shoot in low light!
This course takes place in Kangaroo Point Reserve overlooking Brisbane's city skyline, providing the perfect backdrop for a photography session. Your professional tutor will start the evening by explaining the manual modes in-depth including controlling, shutter speed, ISO and aperture which are valuable assets when shooting at night. Once you start feeling more comfortable about the settings on your camera, you will begin to take some amazing shots of the cityscape, sunset and reflections. During this time you will also learn about colour temperature, exposures in low light and using basic flash. Once the sun goes down, your tutor will cover the art of creative light painting. After demonstrating various techniques, it's your turn to get creative, make your own shapes out of lights and shoot using a tripod.
All you need is a SRL or digital camera with full manual controls, a sturdy tripod and lots of memory space!
Participants aged between 12-15 years old will need written permission from an adult on the day of their workshop.
