Brighten up someone's day with this name a star experience! You'll nominate the constellation, the date of registration and the name you are giving the star and send them their very own parchment certificate and astronomical chart.
Only 5000 stars are visible to the naked eye and they all have scientific and historical names. But that doesn't mean you can't name your own star - it's just only visible using a 250mm telescope! Make someone feel special or treat yourself to this name-a-star experience. You will nominate the constellation, the date of registration, and, most importantly, the name you are giving to the star, with all the instructions on how to do this sent to you after purchase. Once confirmed you will receive a large astronomical chart (30 x 40cm) that pinpoints the location. The star is clearly plotted and circled in red, with the constellation formation highlighted in yellow. The name of the star, the date of registration and all other data relevant to the star including its brightness, are printed on the chart.
Please note, the star you are naming is not visible to the naked eye. You need a 250mm telescope to see it. Only about 5000 stars are visible to the naked eye. These stars are not available for naming (and never have been) because they already have scientific and historical names. Naming a star through the International Star Registry is not recognised by the scientific community. The star's name appears in the International Star Registry records only. The stars named are not 'owned', nor is their scientific identification altered.
