Melbourne's graffiti-splashed laneways come to life with rollicking tales of shipwrecks, sly grog shops and more on this walking tour of the city. Learn about Victoria's distilling past, speakeasies and gin joints, and visit three artisan spirit bars. Enjoy a tipple or three and snacks.
Get a taste of Victoria's spirit-fuelled past on this rip-roaring tour of Melbourne taking in three top-notch small batch distillery bars. Starting at State Parliament, you'll be transported back in time to a heady world of prohibition, sly grog shops, shipwrecks and even Sherlock Holmes while sampling the gin and a cheese board at Little Lon Distilling Co, a tiny 20-seat distillery in a heritage brick cottage that once housed bootleg grog. From here, it's a short stroll to Whiskey and Alement, the first and best of Melbourne's whisky bars with world-class bartenders and wide selection of peaty single malts, honeyed Highlands and mellow Scottish blends. Your tour ends at Boilermaker House, a craft beer and whisky joint with more than 700 whiskies and a rotating menu of tap and bottled beers.
