Experience the basics of sailing and enjoy the feeling of being at the helm of a Catalina36 ft yacht. Enjoy a cruise out of Dromana Bay and then set the sails and practice your maneuvers in the bay under the guidance of an experienced crew.
Your day begins as you board the Catalina36 ft yacht with your small group and experienced crew. You'll enjoy a relaxed cruise out of Safety Beach, then it's onto Dromana Bay to hoist the sails and practice your sailing manoeuvres under the watchful eyes of your skipper. You'll practice tasks such as winching, mainsail , tacking and helming, while taking in the beautiful surrounds. With the wind in your hair and the fresh sea breeze on your skin, you'll feel relaxed and energised. Once your sailing session has ended you'll enjoy complimentary snacks on the cruise back to the Marina. A great day out for someone who has a keen interest in sailing but doesn't know where to start.
Participants must be 16 years and over.
A minimum of 4 participants are needed for the experience to go ahead. Please be aware that this is not a private sailing experience. There will be other people on the yacht.
The experience will not be cancelled in the event of rain. It will only be cancelled in extreme weather or when it becomes unsafe to sail. If this does happen, the experience provider will contact you to reschedule. You will need to provide them with your mobile number.
It is recommended you wear casual and comfortable clothing. Spray jackets will be provided but are not usually needed. You will need to wear non marking, non slip shoes such as sneakers on board. No high heels.
