Glide over the rainforest in a Skyrail cable car, enjoying stunning views and the intense green of the canopy as you ascend. Once you arrive at Kuranda, a village in the rainforest, you can get out and explore. You'll head back to Cairns via the Scenic Railway, where more gorgeous views await!

Beginning early, you will be transferred to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, the first part of your adventure in beautiful Cairns. You are supplied with your tickets for both the cableway and the scenic rail, so there's no waiting in lines! The Skyrail takes you over the rainforest, offering picturesque views of the expansive green vegetation in this beautiful, tropical area. There's two stops along the way, at Red Peak and Barron Falls stations, both with spectacular lookouts, and the ability to enjoy wandering through the rainforest.

The final stop is Kuranda Village, situated in the rainforest, and providing a unique setting for your mini stop over. Spend 3 hours exploring this small village; perhaps with a visit to Birdworld, the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Kuranda Koala Gardens, or the Heritage Markets if you want to shop for arts and crafts. You'll be provided with a map and booklet full of information and coupons for the attractions so you'll definitely find something to do.

When it's home time, you'll head back to Cairns onboard the Scenic Railway and journey through the rainforest once again; this time travelling through hand-hewn tunnels, over bridges and around never-ending curves on board the train. Experience more amazing views over Barron River Delta and marvel at the remarkable engineering of this railway up high. Once at Freshwater Station, the awaiting coach will transfer you back to your hotel.

My husband & I took a long weekend up to Cairns and visiting Kuranda was on our list of places to visit From pick up from our hotel to drop off at the Skyrail in the morning & then the pick up from the Railway at the end of the day, the service was exceptional by our driver Going up to Kuranda township has to be experienced by Skyrail to fully understand how beautiful the rainforest is and the train ride back at the end of the day helps you fully understand what an engineering achievement this was & the skills & dedication of all who were involved. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cairns ... not to be missed

Great day out, but ‘tour’ not necessary.

Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Railway were fantastic. The market is a bit junky but there was a lovely pottery store and crepe cafe. Was this ‘tour’ necessary? For us, no. We could have saved a few $$$ and booked the Skyrail and Railway directly and then just got Ubers to and from the stations from Cairns CBD. Premium price paid for the hotel pick up by the tour driver didn’t add much.

A wonderful way to visit the town of Kuranda by sky rail and train, we loved the experience and beautiful views!

If you are planning a trip to Cairns this is a great day experience for young and old ( keep in mind there is a bit of walking involved though)
