Take the skies in an awesome Yak 52, a genuine Russian military aircraft, capable of incredible aerobatic manoeuvres. Turn Melbourne's skyline upside down as your professional pilot effortlessly performs aerobatic moves and reaches speeds of up to 430km/hr. You'll need to buckle in for this!
The Yak 52 is a 1991 model built for the Russian Air Force, classing it as one of the newest of its kind in Australia. The aircraft was put into storage until 1997 and imported to Australia due to the collapse of the Soviet Union. As a result, the Yak proudly wears its original military colour scheme, decked out with Russian instrumentation and radios. During your pre-flight briefing, you will learn the safety features of the aircraft, what the flight profile will be and how to use the intercom system as you are fitted into your safety harness. Your pilot will start off leisurely, performing gentle loops and rolls before slowly increasing the intensity of the manoeuvres to prepare you for more advanced aerobatics. Feel the adrenaline rush through your body as your pilot performs a full range of incredible aerobatics for 10 minutes. The Yak is capable of speeds of up to 430 km/hr, with a roll rate of 120 degrees per second, so buckle in and enjoy the ride!
