★★★★★ ★★★★★ Recommended 737-800 Flight Simulator David 5 December 2023 As an Aeronautical Engineer, I have always had a deep respect for pilots (commercial, military or civil) based on my understanding of what it takes to maintain control of an aircraft during all flight phases. The JFS experience only added to my level of respect. The Instructor (Ian) expertly guided me through all the required steps and added some extra level of excitement by suggesting we try a landing at the (old) Hong Kong Airport, requiring a thread-the-eye-of-a-needle approach between two apartment blocks and a quick realignment to make sure we landed on the runway. The simulator itself is not a motion simulator, but the quality of the landscape/weather graphics and the 'real' cockpit instrumentation was more than enough to ensure a feeling that there were indeed a hundred-or-so paying passengers behind me, sadly probably not enjoying the rough treatment they were getting from an amateur... Airports from which you can depart or arrive at are only limited to those that could actually accommodate a Boeing 737-800, so the choice is extreme. Worst part: you want to keep trying until the controls become second nature (time and money limitations aside). Best part: if you crash, it's only your ego that is bruised... Highly recommended.
