What's Included?

  • Wine flight of three different fortified wines
  • Shortbread platter

Experience the generational partnership between Dean and Annie Chambers of Barossa Country Biscuits and the award-winning Kies Family Wines for this unique fortified wine and shortbread biscuit pairing session, perfected over 29 years and counting. Held in the Dedication Room at Kies Family Wines, which boasts 180° views of the Barossa Ranges and is nestled amongst the old vines of the Kies Estate. You will enjoy a 45-minute tasting as your wine host talks you through the history of the Barossa Valley. The three museum fortifieds you will enjoy, including a Tawny which has been aging in the same barrel since 1962, and the German recipe shortbreads, baked from sourced recipes from Barossa Valley Omas, including an Eudunda German lady responsible for the excellent almond bread recipe, make for an ideal "history in a glass" experience.

Dean Chambers, founder of Barossa Country Biscuits has been a baker for 46 years and started his baking career at 16. He sourced a lot of his recipes from Barossa Valley Oma's including one German lady from Eudunda who gave him his recipe for the Almond Bread, which is served as part of this experience.
