Join passionate beekeepers on a guided tour of an apiary to discover the fascinating lifecycle of bees and their vital role as pollinators. After taking a sneak peek into their busy lives, taste up to ten different floral sources of honey. You may even walk away from the tour with a new hobby.
Curious about the world of beekeeping? Join passionate beekeepers on a guided tour of an apiary in Bowral, regional New South Wales for a sneak peek into the fascinating lives of bees and their essential role as the earth's pollinators. Start the experience with a cosy morning tea and guided taste testing of up to ten unique floral honeys, each with its own unique taste, texture, colour, and aroma. Participants will then suit up for a behind-the-scenes look at the different styles of bee hives including the Flow Hive and discover what is involved in inspecting the patterns of the Queen Bee and how to check colony health. This unique experience is perfect for nature lovers and those interested in starting their own beekeeping journey. Next time you venture to the Southern Highlands, be sure to add this activity to your itinerary.
The duration of this experience is two hours.
This is an experience best enjoyed by people 10 years of age & older.
This is a small group experience with numbers limited to 8 participants. However, if you are part of a larger group we can accommodate you and simply bring in another beekeeper to open another hive.
All guests on site must be booked into the workshop if you choose not to participate in the bee hive part there is a safe place that you can watch from.
If we have to cancel on the day due to poor weather (it is an outside activity) we would aim to reschedule, but if that doesn't work once again a full refund less the merchant fees.
You must wear boots. That is, ankle-covering boots, something like riding boots, gum boots or work boots. If you only have joggers you must bring 2x pairs of long socks to cover your ankles.
This experience takes place in township of Bowral in New South Wales.

That’s 10% of the Australian population! When we started ‘doing’ experiences in 2001, Facebook didn’t exist; the iPod had just been invented; John Howard was Prime Minister; and Destiny's Child were popular (yikes!). We’ve been at this business of experiences for quite a while, so put your trust in us to show you a good time.
