Step back in time at Historic Village Herberton. Explore over 60 lovingly restored period buildings and see how life used to be with live demonstrations, camp cooking, train rides and more. Try the delicious homestyle offerings at the Bakerville Tearooms while you're here.
Drive just 90 minutes south of Cairns to get yourself to one of Australia’s best known living museums. A rare spectacle, you’ll see over 60 buildings carefully restored to their former glory so you can observe how people lived, back in the day, including the 130 year old Elderslie House.
You’ll appreciate how the Village has beautifully captured the Australian life in great detail. There’s even live demonstrations to really illustrate the way things were, with camp cooking, train rides, turn of the century machinery, rare John Deere tractors and more.
Don’t forget to bring extra pocket money! You won’t want to miss out on the delicious homestyle cooking at the Bakerville Tearooms - wholesome flavours that are too good to be true.
