Meet the crew in the quaint village of Blackheath to be set up with your bike and safety equipment as well a map, puncture kit, trail info and bike handling tips from a pro. Once kitted out, you will embark on the Burramoko Ridge fire trail for an awe-inspiring experience through the Blue Mountains. The Burramoko cycle trail will lead you along a ridge to an impressive rocky bluff. Perfectly combining breathtaking views with fresh mountain air, this glorious ride will show riders how small we really are against Mother nature. Wind through heathlands, open forests and marvel at dramatic views on route to Baltzers lookout, in search of Hanging Rock.

The outlook at Hanging Rock is completely raw, there are no gates or fences along the edge. Feel your heart race faster as you gaze across the enormous gorge brimmed with trees and fringed by golden cliffs. On a clear day, you will be able to see the Sydney CBD from the top! Take some time to enjoy your snacks, relax and revel in spectacular Mother nature at her finest. Remember to bring your camera to capture the amazing scenery! With limited climbs and a relatively short distance, this mountain bike adventure is perfect for beginners, but also great for the more experienced to enjoy the views. This ride will generally take three to four hours to complete.

Session Length

Please allow approximately four hours for the duration of this experience.

Restrictions

Minimum age is 12 Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian. 147cm is minimum height to fit the smallest bike the tour operator carries.

Guidelines

  • Photo ID is required
  • The minimum age is 12 years. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian
  • An average level of fitness is required for this 16km ride with a few steep inclines
  • Suitable for beginners (basic bike handling skills) to advanced riders
  • You will be required to sign a disclaimer and terms of condition form prior to departure
  • Participants must weigh less than 115kg to participate and be taller than 147cm
  • Consumption of alcohol or smoking is strictly prohibited
  • Valid credit card is needed and details stored for security on bike hire. Nothing is charged to it unless bike is damaged or stolen. This will occur after the tour operator has discussed with you. You can purchase accidental bike damage insurance on the day

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

  • Over seven days prior to the experience date: No cancellation fees apply
  • Between four and six days prior to the experience date: A $45 fee applies to change the date and time
  • Within three days of the experience date, no shows and late arrivals: A 100% cancellation fee applies

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather the experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider the day before. Either way you will receive a call the day before you ride.

Dress Code

You should wear eye protection, so bring sunglasses with you, and you must wear enclosed flat shoes like runners. This ride takes you into the Australian bush during the daytime so it is recommended that you apply sunscreen before the ride. Ensure that you wear exercise appropriate clothing.
