Stretching over 123km along the coast of Queensland, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and home to countless natural wonders. Discover the beauty sprinkled between the east and west coast during this three day hiking adventure. Provided maps and itineraries will take you to some of the Island's most diverse landscapes including towering rainforest, spectacular sand blows and pristine freshwater lakes including the world-famous Lake McKenzie and Lake Wabby. Each night you'll set up camp and sleep under the clear star-dusted skies and you'll have plenty of opportunities to go swimming.
Hiking on Fraser Island is subject to the Fraser Island Great Walk hiking tracks being open, based on a precipitation level - due to fire safety. This is monitored by Queensland National Parks, as they can close the hiking tracks with little notice especially in the warmer months of November to March. Therefore this hike is only run from March to October to ensure safety and confirmation of tracks.

The climate of Fraser Island is subtropical, with warm daytime temperatures throughout the entire year. The winter months have an average temperature of14-25 degrees celsius and is less likely that you will see much rainfall during walking season. If it does rain it's generally short showers.
Please bring suitable walking/hiking shoes and clothing, lightweight food for all days on the hike, portable charger, torch, insect repellent, sun protection, large bottle to carry water and walking poles.
Walker camp permits are an additional $10 per person per night paid to operator on day of departure.
