The flight lesson commences with a classroom briefing on all you need to know to enable you to control the aircraft on your first lesson. After the briefing the instructor will take you through the pre flight inspection on your training aircraft before you take your place in the pilot's seat. Your instructor will talk you through the start up, taxiing and take off before you take to the skies.

The first flight is to the south of Moorabbin airport and lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time you will be able to have hands on experience in flying the aeroplane. Following the flight there will be opportunity for you to record your flight in your pilot logbook and you will be given an aviation textbook to read prior to your next lesson. For your second flight you will be given a pre flight briefing on how to fly the aircraft straight and level. Then you will be performing the pre flight inspection before taking to the sky for a one hour lesson.

This experience is approximately five hours in duration in total including the first 90 minute lesson and second two hour and 30 minute lesson
Available seven days a week during daylight hours
Saturdays and Sundays require five days notice due to availability

Guidelines

Minimum age is 15 years old
Please note surcharges apply for participants weighing 100kg or more, please contact the experience provider if you have any concerns as alternative arrangements can be made
All instructors and operators are approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and are members of the Aviation Safety Foundation of Australia
This experience is conducted in a two seat training aircraft
Please note that weekend appointments must be booked well in advance
This experience is only offered in English

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

This experience is one on one with your instructor.

Weather

Flying may be cancelled in certain weather conditions which would make the flight uncomfortable for a novice. Please call the experience provider if in any doubt. Any cancelled flights will be rescheduled for a later date.

Dress Code

Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear required to enable you to climb in and out of aircraft. High heels are not recommended.

I actually got to take off and fly the plane, you also get your own pilots licience log book to put your experience in, with the chance of going further. Everyone was very friendly and I felt well looked after.

I found it very daunting hoping into the cockpit of a plane that I will help fly. It was great to be handed the controls on take-off and to actually take to the air and climb to a safe altitude. Trainer was very knowledgeable and made it all the more enjoyable. If you want to fly a plane then do this experience - You wont regret it.

The flight program was very professionally managed as you would expect from an aviation company. The staff were helpful and clear and the I really enjoyed participating. It was something I wanted to do and thought it was very worthwhile.
