This 'Top Gun' fighter pilot simulator experience is as close as you'll get to flying the real F/A-18 Hornet. Fly at the speed of sound, see the ground rush below, and shoot for the stars in an air-to-air combat mission! You'll truly 'feel the need for speed' at your Air Combat Centre experience.

What's included?

  • 30 minutes with introduction to flight, Basic Fighter Manoeuvres, and simulated combat flying
  • Pre-flight briefing (performed in cockpit prior to the scheduled start time) and guidance provided during session

Are you ready to feel what elite Air Force Pilot training is like? Buckle up and get ready for 30 minutes of exhilaration inside an F-18 Simulator at Marrackville’s Air Combat Centre. You will experience the full capabilities of this aircraft throughout your simulation, from seeing the ground rush on a bombing run to shooting for the stars in an air-to-air combat mission.

These simulators are the ones that are used by the Air Force as part of their career expos and for pilot recruitment, so you'll be getting a real taste of Top Gun!

Important information

  • Sessions run for approximately 40 minutes, including in cockpit briefing
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time. If you arrive late your session time will be reduced so as not to affect later bookings.
  • Subject to availibility
  • Evening sessions available by appointment
  • Minimum ages is 12 years old
  • Max height 6'4". Max weight 120kg. Persons with mobility, hearing and sight impairments; vertigo; epilepsy are not recommended to undertake the flight simulation experience.
  • Any participants that are under the effect of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted into the simulator
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

You will be by yourself in the simulator. Your instructor will guide you through the experience.

Up to 2 other people are permitted to view the session.

Shoes must be worn in the simulator and in the building. No high heels.

This experience takes place at Flight Simulation Centre in Marrickville, Sydney.

My son loved this experience. Paul was very knowledgeable and took the time to show us all the cockpits not just the one we were going to use. It was such a fun experience and would definitely recommend to others.
