Set sail on a winter whale watching expedition that gives you the chance to spot humpback and southern right whales on their annual migration journey. Departing San Remo Jetty on a spacious vessel, you will venture past the sheer granite cliffs of Cape Woolamai and track along Phillip Island’s picturesque southern coastline. Keep your eyes peeled for playful dolphins, curious seals and a variety of birdlife as your captain shares fascinating marine commentary and wildlife interpretation. You will also be treated to a tasty selections of cakes, tea and coffee, and there is a fully licensed bar on board should you wish to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Session Length

This experience lasts for approximately 3 hours
Departs daily at 1pm from June to July only
Boarding begins 15 minutes prior to your departure time so please allow sufficient travel and parking time.

Guidelines

The child ticket is for children between 3-15 years old inclusive and is not recommended for kids under 3
Whale and dolphin sightings are not guaranteed. The provider has a 80% success rate
Vessel motion may cause discomfort to those prone to motion sickness, please take precaution
You must be 18 years and older to consume alcohol; ID may be required

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

There can be up to 80 on the day.

In the event of inclement weather, the experience provider will contact all booked passengers at the earliest convenience for re-schedule or refund.

An Amazing Experience

We had a fantastic trip saw 2 whales and a calf. They swam under the boat. Absolutely amazing. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Huge shoutout to the team for a great all round experience. Speakers out the front weren't overly clear to hear the captain's commentary but staff were quick to fill in the gaps with great commentary, knowledge superb. Well done. We will be back !

A trip to experience

Was one of a kind experience, apart from being sea sick 75% of the trip. Done ands experienced once, but wont be doing it again. Definitely sending someone whom i dont like as a person

Amazing to see the Dolphins and Whale several times within an hour. Along with a playful seal and several penguins on our way back to San Remo.

The team went above and beyond to ensure we saw the whales! Communicating with other boats in the area, we were able to see some swimming around. The crew extended our tour on the way back, so we could see a pair surfacing to the top. 10/10 experience! Dress warmly as the best views are from the outside!

Thanks to John and his crew for a true “bucket list” experience. We managed to see a number of Humpback Whales breaching just off Phillip Island. This was after a pod of dolphins followed our boat. We were also greeted by a few cheeky seals who popped up to say hello. The sea was very choppy so I recommend any would-be whale watchers to take sea sickness medication before leaving dry land. Afternoon tea was offered but mostly declined. Dress warmly as the best views are to be had outside. The crew are gorgeous: informative, helpful and kind. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! Thank you Wildlife Coast Cruises. You are absolute stars!
