Experience the magic of a day sailing on Sydney Harbour in comfort and style on board one of our race tuned yachts. Sail past Shark Island for a view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House and relax as the friendly instructor will show you the ropes in a safe and controlled way.

Our Discover Yachting Day is ideal for beginners and experienced sailors alike. It is a great way to meet new friends and have fun. Our friendly and professional instructor will show you the ropes in a safe and controlled way. If you prefer to chill on the deck and soak up the rejuvenating sun and sea air that's ok too.

A typical day begins with a short safety briefing. Your instructor will explain the basic parts of the yacht as well as the use of winches, halyards and sheets. Next head out into Middle Harbour for some gentle crew training before setting sail for Sydney Heads and a taste of the mighty Pacific Ocean. You may see dolphins and whales and occasionally Flying Fish!

You learn how to hoist and trim the sails, sail across the wind, helm the boat on different points of sail and tack and gybe. After enjoying a tasty lunch at anchor, and maybe a bit of swimming or snorkeling in one of Sydney's magnificent coves, sail on to Shark Island for a view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House and the essential photo shoot.

Enjoy refreshments in the waterside bar or café at Middle Harbour Yacht Club after hours on the harbour - it's a way of life you'll have to get used to!

Session Length

This experience is for a full day, available most Sundays from 10am-5pm.

Guidelines

A minimum age of 18 is required
Children from 10 years are welcome if accompanied by an adult

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Dress Code

Please bring swimwear and a towel

We had a good day sailing with flying fish sailing school and the captain was knowledgeable with lots of experience, would recommend this activity.

Over all Everyone enjoy the full day sailing. When people in a rush and sometimes we can be forgetful. My I suggest that the instructor should remind people for the parking ticket. I am aware that there is a guide on what to take perhaps added bottles of water on your list and pre-made light sandwiches made before boarding.

Phil,mary and flying fish sailing provided a fun day out on Sydney harbour. Relaxed but plenty of sailing, awesome lunch and we even had time for a swim.
