Enjoy an unforgettable journey to the spectacular Strathbogie Wine Region on board a vintage DC-3 aircraft. You'll spend the day in Central Victoria, in the town of Avenel, where you'll be invited to an indulgent wine tasting at Fowles Winery and a delicious lunch at the famous Harvest Home.
Meet your captain and crew at Essendon Airport and get ready to propel into the skies on a vintage DC-3 aircraft! This historic airliner was once the world's most successful commercial aircrafts in the 1930s-40s and WWII with a proud history you'll have the chance to be part of. Feel the excitement as you take to the skies and journey up north where you'll enjoy scenic landscapes of Regional Victoria as you escape the city. You'll shortly land at Mangalore Airport and be transported to your first stop at the award-winning Fowles Winery in Avenel. Here you'll embark on an indulgent wine tasting journey, where you'll sample eight specially curated wines.
Then, it's lunch time! No visit to Avenel is complete without devouring a divine meal at Harvest Home. This popular boutique restaurant is set in a heritage venue with plenty of charm, and boasts a mouth-watering modern Australian menu and bespoke drinks list. Drinks purchased on the ground are at clients cost. Whether your sitting in the French-style garden or the opulent dining room, just take the time to sit back, relax, sip on your drink and savour every delicious bite of your meal. Your DC-3 aircraft will then pick you up to enjoy one last hurrah on board and take you back to Essendon to round off an unforgettable day!

Interstate passengers: The DC-3 is unpressurised and has no air conditioning. For the pleasure flights we conduct we therefore only operate in good weather and comfortable temperatures. Additionally, sometimes we have crewing, maintenance issues and unable to reach minimum numbers as all aviation companies are experiencing in these difficult times. These factors mean we need to often cancel planned flights at relatively short notice (this can be as much as 40% of our schedule). This can be very frustrating and costly for people coming from interstate to fly with us. We of course refund our fares completely but cannot assist with travel and associated expenses. Please consider this if you’re contemplating flying with us.
