Journey to the tip of the Dampier Peninsula to experience the remote coastal wilderness area of Cape Leveque and local Aboriginal Communities. In this one day tour, you will experience the local culture and history of Broome.
Travel outside of Broome for a day, heading through the remote and beautiful landscape as the guide shares stories of local history, people and the environment.
Your first stop will be at Willare Bridge, the tour will cross the mighty Fitzroy River and make a morning tea break at one of the Kimberley’s most famous landmarks the Prison Boab Tree that once used to house convicts. Whilst here view Myalls Bore before continuing along the famous “Gibb River Road” arriving at the outback oasis of Windjana Gorge for a scrumptious picnic lunch. Regarded as a classic world geological feature, keep your eyes peeled for freshwater crocodiles!
This will be followed by an afternoon exploring the fascinating Tunnel Creek cave system, a 750 metre long flooded cavern which makes a great waterhole for a quick refreshing dip. You will then enjoy afternoon tea, before you set off back to Broome arriving back at approximately 10pm. On the way home you will stop for dinner this will be at your own expense. This day trip from Broome offers a delightful glimpse of Australia’s beautiful Kimberley region.
