If you are looking for the independence that boat ownership brings, then perhaps hiring a boat is the next best thing! Take the controls of a 4.2m aluminium vessel with a fixed canopy and follow the map to some of your favourite pristine beaches in the northern end of the harbour. Check out Little Manly, Collins Flat, Quarantine Beach and the secluded Store Beach, or head over to the western side of North Harbour to stop in at Fairlight, Delwood, or Reef Beach. No experience is necessary as you'll be run through a comprehensive area and controls briefing before the hire.

IMPORTANT: You may take the boat to the beaches listed, however, the boat must not travel further than Quarantine Station and Dobroyd Head.

This experience is four hours in duration
Available between 9am-5pm (Winter) and 8:30am-6pm (Summer)
Bookings are essential and must be made at least 48 hours in advance; they should be made further in advance over summer

Guidelines

The minimum age to hire is 21 years; formal source of identification required
It is recommended that you take a mobile phone with you on the day, in the event that you need to contact someone for assistance
NSW recreational fishing licence is required if fishing
No boat license is required

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended and wet weather gear is advisable. Bring a hat and sunscreen and your fishing gear on the day.

Other Info

If you do not have a valid fishing license and you wish to use the boat to fish recreationally, you must purchase a fishing license prior to the trip. Licenses are valid for 48 hours at a cost of $5.50pp. They are available for purchase online from the Dept. of Primary Industries.

Great for people who wish they had a boat.....

[Employee of redballoon] if you have often looked at those people out on the harbour on the weekend having fun on their boats and felt that little pang of envy. Then this is the perfect way to get in on the action. Hire a tiny, easy-to-navigate little boat, get out there, and have some fun. My husband, two kids and I had the best time on this boat, from pulling up near the little hidden beaches and swimming to shore, to cruising along and taking in the sights. We even fished and caught one. Great family activity and was loved by all.
