★★★★★ ★★★★★ The explorer a good way to get around Heidi 20 June 2021 The good points: The blue mountains explorer is a good way to get around if you don’t know the area or where to go and both drivers were lovely and friendly with a great knowledge of the area. The bad points: The bus only comes around every hour, which is quite annoying. Some places may take longer than an hour but you have to rush back to get the bus otherwise you don’t get much else done on the list. It’s just not worth getting off the bus for those things like lookouts that don’t that wouldn’t usually spend an hour at otherwise you’ll be sitting around waiting for the next bus to come. I suggest picking out may 4-5 things that you really want to do because realistically that’s all you can see during the trip. Scenic world isn’t worth it for the cost at all and I wish now I hadn’t wasted time at the place when there were other places I missed out on. The waiting times are very very long. I had a ticket for 11:30am but didn’t get on the train until 12:15pm. Then you can only go down once on one ride and either back up the same ride (which I did) or walk 10 to 30 minutes to another ride, then line up and wait again just to go on a ride that last less than 5 minutes.

You get nice views from the skyway and cableway, and the train is a fun experience. The Explorer Bus is really not worth the money you pay for it. It only runs every 30 minutes, so you spent a lot of time waiting for it. And you can get to Scenic World and Echo Point faster by using your Opal card. For Leura and Gordon Falls get a taxi, it is cheaper.
