Spend an adventurous day abseiling and white water paddling outside Melbourne! We bring the paddles and the ropes, you bring your biggest smile! Only 30 minutes northeast of Melbourne, we're set up to give you a fun and varied experience... plus lunch... plus transfers... it's the perfect day out!
When it's time to paddle - get on board these stable kayaks, decked out in our paddling gear and after a practice on flat water go for the ride of your life! Armed with the safety briefing you just had, you'll have to follow your guide &go with the flow along a 90-minute downstream paddle. These are Grade 2 rapids - so heaps of fun without getting too extreme! Unzip in time for a great picnic lunch, snacks and cool water. You'll have time now to have a good chat to the friendly people you've already met - and with all the excitement, the conversation just flows! Next you'll approach a cliff and it's time to face your fears! We'll strap you into the abseiling harness, with a helmet and gloves, and when you're ready it's time to go off the side of a cliff! Rappel down with great instruction from your friendly instructors. It's hard to believe it's all so close to the city - this reserve feels like a national park hours from anywhere. Seize the day and have an amazing adventure outdoors.
This day runs from 9.30am to about 4pm with a break for lunch.
Average fitness is required for this experience - paddle paddle, rappel rappel!

There will be up to 12 people in a group, and if you like to book more the supplier can arrange a trip of up to 20.
All tours are reconfirmed a few days prior when the weather forecast is more accurate. Sometimes we may abseil first and paddle in the afternoon or vice versa. Please check your final confirmation email sent a few days prior to your tour. If it's raining for your abseil and it can't go ahead due to safety reasons, we can reschedule to another your tour date for you.
Footwear needs to be worn on the river, and closed shoes are required for the abseil - runners are your best bet. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for the outdoors and the season. We suggest gym wear for both activities as synthetic dries quickly and offers sun protection or warmth as needed. Cotton and jeans are not suitable as they keep you cold when wet.
There are many options for accommodation nearby and The wonderful Warrandyte Market is on the first Saturday of every month too. Wineries, a cidery and many other venues nearby help to make this adventure just part of a wonderful weekend break in the Yarra Valley.
This experience takes place 35 mins East of Melbourne, in Warrandyte. Sometimes the order of activities changes but we abseil and paddle at different locations within the old gold mining village of Warrandyte. We abseil at Whipstick Gully and paddle nearby from Jumping Creek Reserve, off Jumping Creek Road in Warrandyte. The river section may change depending on external factors such as river levels. We will always reconfirm meeting location & weather prior to your tour.
