abseiling and kayaking down warrandyte river

We are not the sporty type. However our instructor was very patient and supportive. We had difficulty booking on the red balloon site. I had to have assistance from redballoon. This probably excluded a lot of people from doing the adventure that day.Being the only family on the trip that day made it extra special - like a private outing.

Awesome day of Abseiling and kayaking!

My partner and I had the best day. The guides were fantastic. The abseiling spot was perfect for we total novices. The kayaking was great fun as we paddled down the beautiful Yarra River with quite a few rapids to get through on our way. A great day out.

    Abseiling and kayaking...so much fun!

The girls had a wonderful time starting the morning with abseiling. Glen was a great guide and so patient, particularly with one who was scared of heights! On to kayaking and again Glen made sure everyone had a super fun time.

I really enjoyed my abseiling and white water kayaking experience as I gained new skills and had heaps of fun. Barbie was supportive and made sure that everything was clear. Overall I had a great day, the food was yummy and I would love to do it again.(Laura - age 13)

    Good day of activities

Abseiling was ok , but the drop was only 10m so it wasn't that exhilarating. Enjoyed the relaxing paddle down the river and the scenery. Had fun mucking around in the kayaks with my brother.

    Great for beginners

This was a great experience for beginners and people that don't want anything too hard core but still with a thrill. The cliff wasn't too big and the rapids weren't too big, but still big enough to get a buzz. Lovely location with a great guide who had lots of knowledge. If you haven't tried anything like this then I highly recommend. I'd never done anything like this before but I had a great time and the guide gives you the confidence in yourself to do it.

What's Included?
  • 3 hours of white water paddling
  • 2 hours of abseiling
  • Safety briefings included
  • A nice break for lunch - either picnic or hot dogs with some water & soft drinks
  • All gear provided

First up it's time to paddle - get on board these stable boats, decked out in our paddling gear and after a practice on flat water go for the ride of your life! Armed with the safety briefing you just went through, you'll have to go with the flow along a 90-minute downstream paddle. These are Grade 2 rapids - so heaps of fun without getting too extreme! Unzip in time for a great picnic lunch, snacks and a soft drink. You'll have time now to have a good chat to the friendly people you've already met - and with all the excitement, the conversation just flows! Next you'll approach a cliff and it's time to face your fears! We'll strap you into the abseiling harness, with a helmet and gloves, and when you're ready it's time to go off the side of a 12m cliff! Repel down with the great instruction from your friendly instructors. It's hard to believe it's all so close to the city - this reserve feels like a national park hours from anywhere. Seize the day and have an amazing day in the sun!
