I wasn't a big fan of the new open plan dining room, would have preferred to still have booths which were a bit more private. Felt like we were lunching with everyone else in the dining room. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Red balloon request = missed bookings Adia 9 February 2026 We placed the booking request from Red balloon 54 hours prior, after checking their live booking system at the time to confirm there were still availability. We waited for 2 days heard no reply from the restaurant. So we called 5 hours prior, only to be told there was no table held for us, because live booking after our request would have taken the spots. They’ve also confirmed they attempted to email us about the outcome, but email bounced, no one realised this until I called. By this point we had organised baby sitter and all the affairs to have a lovely evening at Meat and Wine Co, only to be told it’s not happening. Deeply disappointed by the whole experience. If your restaurant is so popular that has no leeway for a table for 2 on a Tuesday night, perhaps consider come off red balloon because you clearly don’t need the business.
