Many people don't realize how beautiful Hotham is in the 'green season', and normally leave a visit for the winter snow season. But when you need to escape the daily grind, wind down and simply relax. They are equipped with a modern kitchenette, Nespresso machine, Foxtel, gas fire place, complementary Wi-Fi and a spa bath. The lower two studios open to the garden terrace and each apartment has a balcony with uninterrupted mountain views. Carved by nature and tranquility by us.

With its beautiful mountainous scenery, you can take relaxing walks, energetic hikes, hire bikes, or simply chill out during the day. On one the evenings enjoy a two course dinner, with a bottle of wine to match. Your two course meal can be a choice of an entrée and main, or a main and dessert - whichever you prefer! The mountains are calling, make it your back yard and let your problems slip away.

Location

The venue is located in Hotham Village, VIC 3741. The Mountain Dreaming apartments are located opposite the Police Station in Hotham Village, approximately 1.2km from Hotham Central. Please park out the front of The General, and Mountain Dreaming Reception is located inside The General. There are no parking restrictions or resort entry fees in summer. You can park your car right out the front of the General for the duration of your stay. There is no petrol between Bright and Omeo, so make sure you fill up there!

Nice autumn mountain escape

Room is cosy, warm with a fantastic view. Good and clean amenities. Shower pressure and hot water were excellent, including a towel heater. The meal was a great deal, lots of food (we couldn’t finish but were able to take in a box) and the wine was nice and local to the area. The General (restaurant) had good vibes, nice staff and cosy. The views are so lovely, we’d recommend coming in warmer months.

Fantastic room and staff couldn't do enough for you. The room was right next to The General which was a rustic pub with a general store and post office. The food there was excellent and they had a good variety of good local wines available.

Had a great time for our weekend away at Mountain Dreaming, the staff were lovely, food was great and the weather was perfect for spring. We mostly did a few short walks around and saw the summit and Mount Higginbotham both worth the views. The only downside is being the off season almost everything except The General is closed, but if you are looking for a quiet getaway in nature this is perfect. Thanks for the wonderful stay 😊

The General Hotel Staff were amazing. We were made to feel at home from the get go. Food was sensational and views of our spectacular countryside did not disappoint.

Unfortunately Red Balloons offer of a 2 night luxury escape with a 4.5 star rating does not reflect what we were given. Misleading photos, limited views clearly not the apartments in the photos as those pictures are taken from different angles, definitely no balcony furniture let alone the grass area with a fire pit and then there’s the noise level, very noisy as we were given the bottom room, which was right next to the cleaners laundry room and over head movement from other guests in the rooms above kept you from relaxing. Alot of dust present in the room. Meal experience 5/5.
