This secluded hideaway is designed for deep rest, creative thinking, and the kind of stillness that lets you reset. To reach your cabin, you'll take a 200m walk from the parking area. Just enough to leave the outside world behind and fully step into nature. With no reception, this is your chance to truly switch off, slow down, and let the bush work its magic. Session Length

The duration of this experience is a two-night stay
Check in from 3pm and check out by 11am

Minimum 3?night stay for the New Year’s Eve period. Mandatory check?in date is 30 December. The same requirement will also apply for the 2026 to 2027 holiday period. Additional fees or higher rates may apply during peak or special event periods, and these charges may be payable directly to Unyoked.

Restrictions

Guests of the Heike Cabin must be over the age of 18. You will receive an email with pre-arrival instructions upon booking the cabin. Additional house rules will also be provided in your field guide.

Guidelines

Guests must be over the age of 18 unless accompanied by a guardian
The exact location of your cabin will be provided upon booking
Cabins are located on rural and often undeveloped areas of land that are often not occupied by the Landowner all year round
Guests are responsible for their own safety in and around the cabin and property
Subject to availability
Please note: All cabins have a minimum of 2-night stay on weekends.
Midweek is Monday to Thursday
Weekend is Friday to Sunday

Cancellation

For changes made at least 30 days prior to arrival, there is no cancellation fee and guests can choose to either reschedule or receive a gift voucher for the full amount.
For changes made 29-15 days prior to arrival, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking amount.
For cancellations made within 15 days prior to arrival, there will be no refund, voucher or rebooking - partial or otherwise.

Weather

Your cabin’s built for every season. The kind of place that feels just as good when the sun’s out as it does when the rain rolls in. Nature does its thing year-round, and being a bit prepared means you can enjoy it all comfortably. We recommend packing solid footwear for the walk in, layers for cool nights, and some wet-weather gear just in case the forecast changes its mind. Nature’s unpredictable, but that’s part of what makes it so good. A little preparation helps you relax, switch off, and enjoy every bit of it. Rain, shine, or somewhere in between.

Dress Code

Make sure to pack sensible footwear for the walk to the cabin, as well as wet weather gear in case the forecast shifts. This spot requires a short hike from the parking area, so having comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing for all seasons will help you make the most of your time in nature.

Location

This experience is located in the Lower Hunter Valley. The Heike cabin sits on the traditional land of the Darkinjung People. It is approximately 1.5-hour's drive from Sydney. Please note there is a 200-metre hike from the car park to the cabin you will need a good fitness level.

Heike cabin on a farm

The cabin was as described - well equipped and private. Facilities good for a two night stay - good bathroom and comfy bed. We visited in December and the cabin was unbearably hot until about 9 pm then became hot again by 7.30/8. It was cooler outside at 32 degrees than in the cabin. So one needs to fill the day outside of the cabin. I’d had an idea to chill out and read on the weekend - this was impossible in the heat. There is a noisy fan which helped somewhat while you slept but not enough during day or evening hours. You can open the front door and a small kitchen window but the two huge windows with views don’t open so cross ventilation is absent. In winter this may not be an issue. The cabin is located on a farm and not in the wilderness tho it does have great views. The owner was busy slashing his field adjoining the cabin and where our car was parked on our first afternoon which was fairly intrusive, emphasising we were camped on someone’s property and not too far from their house and sheds. It felt a little like camping in the back yard.

A perfect spot to really disconnect from it all. The cabin was comfortable and warm especially the bedding considering we stayed in June. The outdoor fire pit was great to sit around during the evening. We will return for another visit!
