Play captain for two hours as you sail your own Hobie Wave catamaran on the beautiful Swan River. After receiving expert tuition and aided by the wind in your sails, you will easily glide across the waterways, soaking in the stunning views and the sunshine. Take up to three others to enjoy the ride!
Make the most of a sunny day out on the water aboard your very own Hobie Wave catamaran! Even if you've never sailed before, the Hobie Wave is the perfect vessel for you to get started. It's simple to sail, more buoyant and has no aluminium boom at the bottom of the sail. The dedicated and enthusiastic staff will provide you with tuition before you head out to ensure a safe and enjoyable day on the Swan River. Once you're feeling confident, take to the water for an epic adventure. Each Hobie can hold up to four passengers, so grab a group of friends and set sail, taking in the stunning natural landscapes and the sparkling city. Don't be surprised if you receive a friendly visit from resident dolphins, black swans and pelicans as you sail.
This experience is two hours in duration plus a short tuition and demonstration.
5 years of age is the youngest age we will allow children on the catamarans. If you wish to take young children on a catamaran we suggest that you discuss this with us on the day. Factors such as sailing experience of the person in charge of the catamaran and the conditions on the day very much influence the advice we give to hirers.
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.
Each catamaran can hold up to four participants.
Permitted - or can join you on the catamaran
For first time sailors, we suggest that the perfect wind speed is anywhere from eight knots to 14 knots, especially if you are taking children out with you. In the range between 15 knots and 23 knots, the catamarans become quite powerful and the risk of capsize increases. Beyond 24 knots of wind speed, we are generally thinking about suspending sailing, or restricting the area of sailing to a part of the river protected from the wind.
Please wear swimmers and sun protective clothing. Life jackets are provided.
This experience takes place in South Perth, WA.
