Werribee Open Range Zoo takes the zoo game to a whole new level. In this experience you’ll enjoy a sunset safari with some of the world‘s most iconic animals, hear African drum beats and watch an exciting performance while dining on delicious African-inspired cuisine.

At this after-hours event, you’ll spend an unimaginable night out with some of the world‘s most loved animals. Your journey starts with a complimentary drink on arrival before setting off on your guided sunset tour at Werribee Open Range Zoo. Keep an eye out for the spectacular rhinos, herds of giraffe, meerkats and zebras. Can you hear that hypnotic beat in the background? That’s your queue to sit down and feast on delicious African cuisine while you enjoy an immersive performance, bursting with African rhythm and soul. Proceeds from Sunset Safari help support international conservation partners such as Rhino Fund Uganda.

NOTE: This experience runs every Friday and Saturday night from November 2018 - March 2019 ONLY.

Session Length

  • This experience is three hours in duration
  • Runs Friday and Saturday nights from November to March, from 6-9pm


You will be split into groups on the evening. Your dinner, safari and performance schedule may vary dependant on what group you are in.


  • You must be 18 years and older to consume alcohol; ID may be required
  • The provider reserves the right to cancel the experience due to an animal welfare issue
  • All participants must agree to follow the keepers instructions


Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged with them directly according to their policy:

  • Rescheduling and cancellations require a minimum of 14 days notice

Numbers on the Day

Maximum group size is 120 people. The capacity of the event is 360 people.


In the event of rain or inclement weather, your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.
