Enjoy a supported hike along the magnificent South Coast of NSW. Murramarang National Park boasts crystal clear waters, long stretches of beach, rainforest, clifftops and an abundance of wildlife. Recharge over three days of diverse hiking at this popular walking destination.
At 8am you will be greeted at your hotel by your hiking guides, where you’ll be transferred to Murramarang National Park and have your cabin baggage stored. With only your day packs (available to borrow), the hike commences along forested trails where you will enjoy beautiful views from cliff top vantage points. If you travel within June and November, you may be lucky enough to spot whales. Beaches such as North Head beach, Honeysuckle, Myrtle, Oakey and Richmond all connect through forested trails, with any of these forming a potential lunch and rest stop. After walking through cracks and coves of sandstone, you will find your first night accommodation. Get comfortable in your twin share beachfront cabin before being treated to a delicious afternoon tea. Relax at the beach, or the pool and enjoy dinner at your leisure at the onsite restaurant. (night 1 dinner not included)
Experience a change of scenery with a day of beach hiking, discovering Cookies and Durras Main beach. You may be lucky enough to spot dolphins in the surf as you pass. Before stopping at Lake Durras for lunch to enjoy the gorgeous views, you’ll enjoy an uphill rainforest hike over Point Upright. This central sea cliff offers a recommended side hike with views into the pacific. When you later arrive at Depot beach, you’ll settle in to your cabin accommodation and enjoy an afternoon of exploring the area. Here you can get up close with kangaroos and spot magnificent birdlife. You may also request to snorkel or enjoy beach fishing with your guides. Dinner is served in the main camp area around the camp fire.
After breakfast set off along the trail to Pebbly Beach. Here resident kangaroos have found fame as visitors frequently come to photograph them lazing on the beach in true Aussie style. The beach has become a popular surf spot and destination on the South Coast. Upon reaching Durras Mountain, you’ll spend time discovering the beauty of the landscape and pockets of the rainforest. For those feeling extra adventurous, there’s an optional steep hike to the mountain submit. Your three-day hike comes to an end at Pretty Beach, a stunning white sand and rainforest location, making all of your efforts all the more worthwhile. Transport will take you back to your Batemans Bay accommodation at 3pm.
