Get your dose of nature's therapy during this full day tour from Airlie Beach. You will visit two enchanting freshwater waterfalls and swimming holes in the Eungella National Park, enveloped by a montage of green. Cool off as you take a dip and don't forget to watch out for the elusive platypus!
You've got permission to chase waterfalls during this exciting full day tour! After pick up from your accommodation in Airlie Beach, you'll head to the pristine Eungella National Park, which is over 50,000 hectares and is Australia's oldest and longest stretch of subtropical rainforest. Home to majestic waterfalls, swimming holes and an abundance of wildlife, the region is truly magical. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy an easy 25 minute walk under the shaded canopy of the rainforest to the first waterfall. Along the way, be on the look out for a host of birdlife and the elusive platypus in the river streams. A calming ambience takes over when you arrive, with only the sounds of birdsong and the cascading waterfall filling the air. Enjoy a couple of hours exploring the area, before setting off on a 15 minute hike to the second waterfall 'Wheel of Fire.'
Although involving a steep climb up stairs and across a river, the journey is well worth it. Be rewarded with a large and majestic waterfall that cascades the entire face of a mountain and houses a swimming hole with an array of depths. Enjoy a dip in the pristine water, laze on a rock and soak in the sun and explore the area by foot. With an area enveloped by lush rainforests, palms and tree ferns, you'll feel worlds away.
