Hear the history of Boggo Road Gaol, crimes and daily life of prisoners, officer's duites, riots and rooftop protests. See the cell of "Slim"Halliday - "The Houdini of Boggo Road"and "Tripod" the jail cat! Guided tour includes time to explore cellblocks. Family Friendly. 1.5 hour duration

You’ll see this graffiti up close as well as F wing cell block where one of the many riots in the prison’s history were staged. You’ll also visit the heritage section of the jail and learn about the daily lives of the prisoners and about the duties of the guards.

Tours will still run in the rain. The weather really adds to the atmosphere of a tour. If the weather looks bad, bring some wet weather gear, and enjoy the tour. Tours will only be cancelled if conditions become dangerous. Our Bookings Coordinator will contact you to notify you of cancellation and rescheduling your tour.

Dress Code

Comfortable walking shoes must be worn. Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is recommended, especially in summer. Bring umbrellas/raincoats in wet weather.

Other Info

A plastic bottle of water/soft drink is recommended for participants (required if suffering of low blood sugar levels i.e. diabetic).
