Cooking Italian in Melbourne is so easy - you just have to learn how! These first-generation Italians will teach you how to utilise great Yarra Valley produce to create a gourmet Italian feast, all on a spectacular property near the Yarra River.

Cooking is as much an art as a science - so don't try to learn from a book! These Italians will show you how enjoyable cooking can really be, not through strict instruction but through sharing knowledge and enjoying your time together!

You'll prepare a three-course Italian meal (served with a glass of Yarra Valley wine) and then sit and enjoy it with your new friends in the class. We use fresh, seasonal produce sourced from the Yarra Valley, and we'll provide you with all the recipes so you won't have any trouble harnessing your new skills at home! Sit back with an Italian espresso coffee afterwards, and reflect on a job well done!

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Located at in the picturesque Yarra Valley, 50 minutes drive east of Melbourne.

Session Length

This experience is 4 hours - so you'll learn tonnes! These banquet classes are run on Saturdays 10.30-2.30, but private lessons are available at other times if you like!

These classes are for beginners. Please advise any food allergies when booking and we're more than happy to accommodate! Under 18s need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Numbers:

Classes will have up to 12 people, and we can easily arrange other times for group or corporate bookings.

Being an Australian-Sicilian foodie I felt that I wasn't learning a lot and that I could have actually helped out in the presentation or teaching myself. Having said that I thought the day was pitched at the right level for the majority of participants. I share their passion and loved it! I was given the voucher because my friends know how much I love food...it's great for beginners or those keen on Italian food options or techniques. I'd like to suggest they have a more difficult or unusual dish option that makes the crowd go "Wow" and keeps the more experienced people excited. Sad to hear it's ending soon...which is why I haven't said that I would recommend to anyone. I have been talking about it since i attended though :) I would love to run something like this myself one day. Thanks Girls it was a great day! x 14 April 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Informative and delicious This was given to me as a gift so cannot comment on the value for money. I gained some very positive tips from this course. I understand the cooking school has had to move premises so the set up is not ideal at the moment. I would have liked to be able to chop up the ingredients and do everything from scratch. The tables for preparing food were too low and the facilities were not ideal. We made a three course meal but less is more, I think it would have been more beneficial to make perhaps one course and do everthing from scratch. Hilda was our team leader and she was delightful, we were certainly blessed to have Hilda as our leader. I also think 4 to a table is too much - like I said, less is more. Overall I enjoyed the day. 12 February 2013

The quality of the products they used was amazing and really showed once the food was consumed. The staff were very friendly and happy to offer other advice to cooking questions. Rated 5 out of 5 The Cooking school experience was delightful from start to finish. The kitchen was very well organised and the dining room table was beautifully set for us to enjoy the delicious food we cooked matched with lovely wines from Sticks vineyard just down the road. The atmosphere was very friendly, the instruction very clear and easy to follow and the staff were obviously passionate about their food. Most enjoyable. 15 July 2012
