Chocolate Making Workshop

Code: KCL831
  1. Valid for 12 months
  2. Free exchange

Indulge yourself in a hands-on chocolate making workshop designed for the inquisitive and creative chocoholic! Find out how real chocolate is made and experience the pleasure of making your own. You’ll leave the chocolate workshop with your own handmade chocolates and the skills to make even more.

This chocolate making workshop is the perfect indulgence for any chocoholic! Your chocolate workshop begins with a brief discussion about chocolate including the difference between real chocolate (couverture) and compound chocolate.

Afterwards, you will be entrusted with the secrets of making chocolate truffles and given a choice of eight enticing flavours so you can even try your hand at making your own.

With the guidance of Joseph the chocolatier, you will firstly make the ganache using a flavour of your choice (the ganache is the centre of the chocolate). While you are rolling the ganache into delicious, bite-sized balls, your workshop assistant will make everyone in the workshop a great cup of coffee. Enjoy your coffee and maybe even indulge in one or two chocolates from our delicious chocolate range!

After making the ganache, you are then given a choice of a variety of finishes for your truffles. These may include a cocoa powder, or rolled nut finish, you might even have the opportunity to enrobe your creations using the chocolate machine, as well as decorating them.

After the class, all of your handmade chocolates (excluding those that you might have already eaten!) are yours to take home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Afternoon! I thoroughly enjoyed learning to make chocolate. The best part would have to be all the taste testing!!!! Joseph and Connie were great. Highly recommend!!! 12 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Too bad we had to lick extra chocolate off our fingers! Joseph was very knowledgeable with the science behind chocolate making. He was very warm and funny! Connie was very generous with her skills. The other participants were friendly. 21 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved it This was an enjoyable afternoon with affable and knowledgeable staff - Joseph and Connie - contributing to a friendly atmosphere. The time went quickly - we were busy 'doing' and 'learning' and came home with a lovely box of chocolates I'd made myself. 14 April 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Yum! You don't mind getting your hands dirty when it means you get to lick them afterwards! There was a fair bit packed into the workshop, but was all presented well and nothing was too difficult. 18 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worthwhile Experience Great experience. Worthwhile even for those foodies who think they already know everything about chocolate. There is always something new to learn. Can't wait to do the advanced workshop. 11 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by An interesting, fun and informative experience I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate making experience and learned such a lot about making chocolate. I would have liked to be able buy some moulds, flavourings chocolate and packaging so that I could continue making chocolate at home. Some of the items are difficult to come by . I am sure this would be a valuable add on to this experience 2 December 2012
